Dear Sir,

We have to expect in the run-up to an election that there will be plenty of back-and-forth, it’s part of a positive political debate.

However, does this have to descend to the nasty levels being seen by some in our town?

Just because some people don’t believe it’s fair for us to pay more council tax than other parts of the county, does not mean that we, and the residents supporting this view, should be treated like dirt.

I hope for the sake of our town that when residents vote with their postal vote this week or on 6th May that they consider what is best for our town and perhaps that it really is time for a positive change.
