Dear Sir,
My wife and I recently visited Stockton Town Centre which like our own town centre had extensive refurbishment and done to a very high standard.
However that is where the resemblance ends as Stockton is maintained to a high level of cleanliness. The new paving is spotless and free of stains and bins are emptied regularly to prevent build-up of litter.
Then we have our town centre which is the opposite with rubbish everywhere and stains on new paving and looking awful, particularly in the covered area down near Coffee Pronto.
It boils down to the fact that Newton Aycliffe Town Centre is neglected which is the opinion of many people I have spoken to and surely the shop tenants, on the basis of what they pay, deserve a better deal.
We as residents also deserve a clean place to shop and to be proud of!
