The Fire Station conversion in the Town Centre, to accommodate the Police, is complete and was opened on Wednesday this week. They moved everything from their rented premises on the Business Park to their new offices and are now open for business.
The new arrangement makes sense as the Police try to meet more budget cuts. They made the decision not to build a new police station, but share premises with the Fire Service guaranteeing their service would not suffer.
Most people agree there will be a higher sense of security in bringing the police station back to the town centre and this move, complete with blue lamp, is very welcome.
