Pioneering Care Partnership are wanting people living in Newton Aycliffe and Middridge to learn, grow and be inspired by getting involved in a new community garden project, Plot to Plate.
The 16 week course starts on Wednesday 2 April from 10am – 12 noon and is free with thanks to Great Aycliffe and Middridge Partnership’s ‘Your Money, Your Area, Your Views’ Community Grants Fund.
Participants will learn from a horticultural specialist and gain hands on experience in clearing the site, sewing seeds, understanding soils and composting, growing vegetables, cultivating fruit and herbs and watching them grow.
The benefits earned from this project will be improved physical health from increased activity and feeling better from being outside and meeting new people. You will feel healthier and wealthier from eating your own grown produce and there will also be opportunities for volunteering.
This project forms part of PCP’s aim to develop a socially inclusive community garden set in the grounds of the Centre that all can enjoy.
If you are interested in enrolling for the free workshops book your place today or for further information contact: 01325 321234 email: project.admin@pcp.uk.net.
