Greenfield Arts have had a great start to the Autumn season with new projects, courses and activities proving more popular than ever.

The ‘season of play’ programme is bringing the community together to encourage imagination through learning and playful activities, encouraging creativity throughout the courses and specialised workshops.

The new programme has seen the return of popular courses such as Floral Art, Yoga and Spanish, which have attracted record numbers of participants. New specialist art courses are also attracting serious attention forming an ever-growing creative community. Courses which include Exploring Collage and Glass Decorating are almost full-to-capacity and Creative Forum, led by Sharron Bates encourages a lovely way to meet up and develop your artistic skills.

The season opened with a wonderful exhibition where artistic accomplishment and nostalgia meet to showcase the ‘childhood memories’ of artist Gary Smith and we are looking forward to a ‘journey of experimentation’ with artist Alison Gargett as she exhibits a range of paintings that ‘play’ with paint and textures in a vibrant display of work.

Greenfield Arts continue their offer to young people with free weekly activities including Art Club and Yoga for young people. Greenfield Arts are launching their Big Draw events in October to encourage young people to play and explore through art. Holiday activities are already planned for half-term and Christmas with sessions taking place at both Aycliffe and Shildon. These are tutor led and family focused exploring playful ways to be creative.
