Under new management and raring to go, Debbie from Aycliffe Village has recently bought Pitstop Cafe located on Durham Road in the Business Park.
A qualified chef, she has been looking at local venues for the last year and when the Cafe came up for sale she knew it was her chance to get back in the kitchen. ‘I have such a passion for cooking and pleasing people with my homemade food and since opening, the feedback I’ve received has been overwhelming’.
She has lots of different customers to please, being located right in the heart of the estate, so her menu includes; hot and hearty dishes such as chicken pie with parmesan potatoes and fresh vegetables, mince and dumplings with mash as well as a range of more healthier options for her calorie conscious customers.
Some of their favourites are; Piri Piri chicken and salad served in a wholemeal pitta, omelettes, pulled pork sandwiches and cheese and onion tart.
One of her customers, Rebecca Summerill, pops in most mornings for her breakfast or for one of their tasty cakes for an afternoon treat. Pitstop has also started a delivery service for those customers who pre-order for their office or factory.
It’s early days and Debbie understands the importance of the feedback she is receiving. ‘It’s all been positive so far which is great news but I need to keep the ideas flowing as it is helping to shape future menus.’.
The daily specials are posted on facebook everyday and watch out for special events such as a forthcoming American themed evening.  If you want to hire the cafe for meetings or parties after it closes at 2 pm, then get in touch.
