On Wednesday 15th July 2015 Dave McKean from the Institute of Physics conducted a Physics Roadshow and workshop with year 8 students from Woodham Academy. Students were invited to take part in lots of exciting activities designed to make them think about how Physics impacts every part of modern life.
Students were given the opportunity to launch hydrogen rockets and investigate fire tornados as well as model the size of the solar system. All students had great fun as well as learning a little bit more about the world of Physics.
Dave McKean has been working closely with the Science department at Woodham Academy developing their already fantastic Physics curriculum that has delivered two Physicists of the Year. Dave will be back working with the department next year where they plan further roadshows for year 7 and primary students.
