Woodham Academy Art Department’s photography challenge is back! After the success of the Summer challenge which ran for every day over the month of August, the Christmas Ph-HO-HO-HO-tography Challenge ran for two weeks over the Christmas holidays.
Each day a different Christmas themed topic was set and the challenge was to submit a photograph for each day. The challenge was open to anyone following the department on social media with photographs uploaded from students, siblings, parents, teachers and even international followers of the department.
Although each daily topic was Christmas themed, the prompt could be interpreted in any way and any kind of photography manipulation was accepted. The only rule was that the photograph must be your own – not taken from the internet. The result is a truly collaborative piece of art and an interesting glimpse into how the families of Woodham Academy students celebrate and enjoy the Christmas holidays. The photographs show amongst much more – gifts, decorations, friends and families, winter woollies, light, colours and food.
Some of the photographs were taken on the spur of the moment, some were old photographs and some were cleverly posed and created to fit the prompt. The Photography Challenge is now on display in the school and also available under the #waxmaspic on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
You can follow other Woodham Academy departments on social media also, including the House system. Departments post daily with updates of important information, coursework and exam dates, exam and revision tips, student work as well as much more.
