PCP recently celebrated the organisations outstanding achievements at their AGM with staff, volunteers and stakeholders including The Mayor of Great Aycliffe, Councillor Mary Dalton.
Carol Gaskarth, PCP’s Chief Executive, was delighted to report a record-breaking year for the Charity, stating, “PCP’s mission is ‘Health, Wellbeing and Learning for All’ and we strive to ensure that all projects and services aim to support this goal, 2018-19 has been another great year for us.
“We now deliver 29 projects across County Durham, Tees Valley and Sunderland and the outcomes for clients are phenomenal. Last year the Pioneering Care Centre visitor numbers were the highest since we opened the doors in 1999 and volunteers provided an astounding 9003 hours of support. The organisation provided almost 19,000 hours of respite for carers and the social media campaign for our Cancer Awareness project reached over 81,000 Facebook users!
“Personally my favourite part of the AGM is always hearing from people who have used our services and listening to how they’ve overcome barriers, developed skills or become more confident. I continue to be surprised at how readily people are willing to share their stories and want to thank Sam, Vicky, Thomas, Phil, Gillian, Helen and Gareth for describing their journeys – it’s not easy to get up in front of a room full of people and they did a great job.
“It is a real privilege to lead a team of dedicated, skilled and experienced staff and volunteers. We work tirelessly to ensure our projects and services are excellent quality and the breadth of what we deliver is testament to everyone’s hard work and dedication. I’m sure the coming year will be equally as successful as we continue to develop and grow.”
