Oh yes it is . . .

Newton News were invited along to the Darlington Hippodrome this week to watch this year’s pantomime which stars Shirley Ballas (Strictly Come Dancing) and George Sampson (Britain’s Got Talent Winner).

Jack and the Beanstalk was a thoroughly enjoyable family night out. The classic panto tale had a funny local twist with most town’s in the area receiving a mention and the ‘Darlo’ song with local jibes.

The newly refurbished theatre looks very impressive with comfortable seats and an airy atmosphere.

The pantomime, which is just over two hours long, wound its way through the story of Jack and the Beanstalk, throwing in dance routines from both Shirley and George.

Lots of laughter, jokes and comedic antics to keep the whole family engaged. Watch out for the ‘tongue tie’ scene between the Trot family and especially funny was the old Panto classic “If I were not in Panto”, expertly performed.

All in all it was a very entertaining night with an appreciative full audience.
