During the summer holidays the children and staff at Woodham Burn Out of School Club collected items for the great North Air Ambulance. The club decided to carry on with the collections throughout the next half term. We were lucky enough to have a visit from Harriet, Jay (a Great North Air Ambulance Pilot) and Miles the mascot from The Great North Air Ambulance service. They explained to the children about the work they do in and around the North of England. All of the children were very excited to try on the pilot’s helmet and flying suit! Harriet explained that they are a registered charity and the work they carry out is totally dependent on donations from the public. The cost of this vital service totals over four and a half million pounds a year to enable it to run, so our support is greatly appreciated. We had a fantastic response, a huge thank you to everyone who participated. Also a special thank you to the GNAA team for taking the time to visit us.
