Casey, a child who regularly attends Woodham Burn Out of School, has won the age 7 – 9 category Annual Fireworks Safety Poster Competition facilitated by Great Aycliffe Town Council.

Children could use any medium to create their poster, i.e. crayon, paint, felt tip, collage etc. Casey used a range of medium to create her winning design. The theme of the poster was fire and firework safety. The Mayor of Great Aycliffe presented Casey with gift vouchers.

Mrs Edwards, Head Teacher said “This annual competition is needed because it reminds children of being safe around fire and fireworks”.

Maureen and Sandra who manage the Out of School said “We are so proud of Casey, she created her winning poster at one of the Out of School sessions she attended and we remember her being so delighted with her creation, as were we”

Just a reminder to parents/carers Out of School sessions are available up to and including Friday 21st December and then re-opening on Wednesday 2nd January 2019.
