North East-based Orca Cleaning Services Ltd is making its own major contribution to the fight against Coronavirus, by offering free fogging services for communal areas in care homes across the area.

The fogging process takes effect within 10 minutes of application and remains active for up to 28 days – even in frequently touched areas. As such, it’s a vital resource in controlling and reducing the spread of the virus, particularly in high risk places such as care homes and schools.

Steven Holmes, director at Orca said: “We’re really keen to help the people who are most vulnerable during this pandemic. In care homes, if the virus gets in then it can spread quickly with devastating effects and we want to do everything we can to prevent that.

“Our fogging service is proven to kill the virus, so could make a real difference in protecting our older people.”

Initially available to care homes in DH and DL postcodes, the free fogging service is provided directly by Orca via its team of 10 members of staff.

Offering a full range of industrial cleaning services including high level cleaning, industrial pressure washing and guano (bird muck) removal, Orca was founded in 2016 and has ambitious plans to quadruple in size over the next five years. It already works with companies including the Forestry Commission, Gestamp Tallent, AKS Precision Ball, NSK Bearings, Mission Food, JLM Global Foods, Overbury and Tolent.
