Bishop Auckland College has secured funding through the Great Aycliffe and Middridge Partnership (GAMP) and Livin to help the residents, aged 16+, in the GAMP area to progress/move closer to or into employment, further training or volunteering.

Project Description

There are three funds designated to supporting those over the age of 16+ residing in the Great Aycliffe and Middridge area.

These three funds are:

• Upskilling Fund aimed at those in low paid jobs, to support them in acquiring new skills/qualifications, enabling them to move up the career ladder, change direction or gain additional work in a new sector. This opportunity is available where there is no mainstream funding available and where opportunities cannot be provided through employers’ Continuous Personal Development Fund (CPD).

• Employability Skills Fund aimed at responding to specific training needs, where there is no mainstream funding available.

• Discretionary Fund aimed at removing barriers, for example, travel, childcare, resources that prevent clients from accessing training and employment.

To-date the Project has successfully supported 249 people into employment.
