From the offset, the staff were checking and re-checking everything to ensure a great first time experience for the rapidly growing crowd of customers waiting outside on Cafe HQ’s opening day on Sunday May 1st. At 11am, the doors were opened, comments heard were very positive, ‘well appointed and decorated’, ‘very spacious and welcoming’.
Huey was busy in the kitchen, both cooking and supervising, whilst the staff were attentive to all customers.
The atmosphere and ambience in Cafe HQ would suit everyone, from those wanting a standard breakfast to a more intimate setting, all requirements are catered for.
Opening hours are 9am – 2pm, Monday to Saturday and 9am – 4pm Sunday, though pre-booking is highly recommended on Sundays.
The less mobile are catered for as the Cafe is specifically adapted for those with disabilities including no steps, plus wider aisles and a specially adapted toilet.
Cafe HQ also has the pleasure of announcing that there are lots of plans for the future including our fully licensed night-time venue, opening in the summer, Beveridge-Bar Bistro HQ, as well as OAP HQ meals-on-wheels for those with a smaller appetite. Watch our social media for more information.
Mood lighting is very welcoming and literally exudes a warm welcoming atmosphere as soon as you walk in, a digital Jukebox, unique in the town, plays a choice of good music too.
Food wise, from breakfasts to family favourites, like mince and dumplings, plus all kinds of desserts, make Cafe HQ a revelation in food.
Darran Weston commented “I was awestruck at the availability of specials, sweets and drinks, plus the lovely comments overheard as I photographed the opening, and highly recommend Cafe HQ.”
Huey and his team offer their utmost apologies for the technical gremlins that let them down when they least expected, JustEat, plus the till and phone system, all failed despite working fine up until the opening. This is currently being resolved as a matter or urgency and Huey asks that you bear with him.
