Did you watch our fantastic British gymnasts performing at the recent Olympic Games?
How do they perform those fantastic skills?
Well, they probably started out at a local gymnastics class and you could do the same. Woodham Community Centre are running gymnastics classes and have a free taster session available on Friday 10th December.
Classes for boys and girls in school years Reception to Year 2 are welcome to come along at 6.15pm to 7pm and boys and girls in Year 3 and above from 7pm until 8pm.
Before lockdown, Woodham Community Centre secured funding from Great Aycliffe and Middridge Partnership (GAMP) and have all new gymnastics equipment waiting for young gymnasts to use. We only had chance to use it twice before lockdown.
We have brand new mats, balance beams, springboards, vaulting equipment and much more and are really keen for these things to be used by local children.
The community centre has had all new heating and ventilation systems installed so the venue is a warm and safe place to be.
For more information, and to book a place on the free taster session, please email redfearnjoy@gmail.com
Classes will start in the New Year on Friday 7th January.
