As some readers know, the Pastoral Team of The Parish of Great Aycliffe visit all the nursing homes on the town quarterly for a short service of hymns and prayers. We also offer communion for those who wish it. This year as part of our harvest services we have asked all the homes if they would like to make a scarecrow. This could be a traditional one or something entirely different. The choice is entirely theirs.

The pastoral team will be visiting all our homes from September 17th until October 1st. Service begins at 11.00am and all are invited to join us. Maybe you have a relative or friend you visit, why not make this day your visiting day and join in the fun.

The Newton News have kindly offered to go into the homes and take photographs of all the “Scarecrows” these will be shown in the newspaper and we would like all readers to vote for their favourite one.

All homes named here have their service on the date shown. It would be lovely to see some of our readers there to join in with us and make all residents know they are thought of.

Thank you
