The nation’s favourite motorbike-riding chefs, the Hairy Bikers, are fronting the MS Society’s sweetest fundraiser of the year.

Down-to-earth duo Dave Myers and Si King are challenging people in the North East to host a Cake Break and raise vital funds for people affected by multiple sclerosis (MS) on Friday 4 October, or a different date that works for you.

Over 100,000 people live with MS in the UK, with a further one in four likely to know someone affected. The condition damages nerves in your body and makes it harder to do everyday things, like walk, talk, eat and think.

Whether you’re an expert baker or planning to pop to the supermarket for some ready-made treats, raising any kind of dough could make a big difference – it doesn’t even need to be on the 4th October,

And, once you’ve signed up, you’ll be sent a flan-tastic Cake Break fundraising pack. Inside you’ll find exclusive recipes from the Hairy…Bakers, as well as decorations, a collection box and cake-inspired games to help you spread the word – just don’t forget to share your Cake Breaks using #CakeBreak2019.

Nick Moberly, Chief Executive of the MS Society, says: “We’re incredibly honoured to have the Hairy Bikers supporting this year’s Cake Break, and have no doubt they will inspire bikers, bakers and novices everywhere to host their own Cake Breaks across the country.

“By organising a Cake Break you’ll be raising vital funds for everyone affected by the condition. We believe we can stop MS, but we can’t do it without you.”
