A MUSIC Festival will have an exciting circus theme for its second year in operation.
Organiser and founder of Northbridge Festival, Ben Tinkler from Bolam, said, “The theme of the festival this year is ‘Welcome To The Circus’ where the entire site will be transformed into a travelling circus with live circus performers, carnival rides, full site decor, fire breathers and some special surprises.”
The site has been decorated with fully recyclable materials and a team of volunteers have been helping with the preparations that will see some top DJs arriving from around the country to entertain.
The one-day festival to be held on July 23 at Knowle Farm, Fishburn has ‘Waze and Odyssey’ as the headline act. This House duo are giants of the music scene, reaching number 3 in the official UK chart in 2014 with a remix of R Kelly’s, ‘bump N Grind’. Ben added, “It is rare to see such big names at an intimate event like Northbridge when they are more used to playing to thousands of fans. It is a real coup to have them at our festival with a capacity of just 500.”
The intimate party atmosphere of last year’s Northbridge Festival has set the tone for this year’s to be even better. The festival began as a house party, which grew into a vibrant, outdoor festival with all amenities, including camping facilities, hot food, licensed bar and so much more.
Other artists who will be appearing include Sonny Fodera, an Australian signed to Defected records, Dale Howard, former Big brother contestant, local lad, Jacky originally from Crook but now very big in London and Ibiza, Smoove – of Smoove and Turrell and another 30 DJs who will be playing in different tents and outdoor venues on the farm.
For the first time, the festival will bring together some of the North east’s biggest clubbing and music brands for the ‘Curated’ stage at the festival, including Haze from Sunderland, riffraff, Middlesbrough, Solar Knights, Darlington and an exciting new record label – throne Room Records – owned by Bishop Auckland DJ, Oli Carloni
This is strictly an over 18s event and is sponsored by Fawn Couture and Nosh Healthy Kitchen. Day tickets (£40) and Camping tickets (£50) are on sale now from www.northbridgefestival.co.uk – Follow the festival on Facebook – search for Northbridge Festival for exciting updates.
