No Church? New Church!

Following the announcement made by Archbishops Justin of Canterbury and John of York this week, that all Churches in the Church of England must suspend all Services as of now, but must also find new and creative ways of being a church, our Great Aycliffe Parish churches are beginning to form a plan.

This is where we are:

No church services . . . instead, St. Clare’s Church will be open for individual quiet prayer every afternoon from 1pm until 4pm, Monday to Thursday; from 6pm until 7pm on Saturdays and from 10am until 12 each Sunday. You can also leave prayer requests which will be honoured as the Parish Team pray each day.

We are currently learning how to “live stream”, so that sermons as well as study notes and prayer resources will be available for people to be “at church” in their own homes, by looking at our website: www.parishofgreataycliffe.co.uk or our Facebook page Parish of Great Aycliffe.

We are still offering care and support (from a safe distance), anyone with concerns can call Rev’s Ann or Jeff on 01325 315194 or Pam Lovelass on 07779 942347.

For queries about weddings, baptisms (christenings) and funerals please call Rev’s Ann or Jeff on the number above as guidelines are still being worked out.

Messy Church families will receive a special message via their Facebook page Youth/ChildrenSt.Clares, please do look at their Messy Media Message which will be broadcast this Saturday 21st March!

We might have no Services at the moment in church, but we, the people, are still church and here for our community.

The Parish Team of Great Aycliffe Parish.
