Lifeline Community Action (LCA) which supports children, young people and families in need of financial support in Newton Aycliffe is to celebrate the success of its scheme to get people to live healthy heart lifestyles.
The Aycliffe charity hosted a celebration event on Wednesday 11th November with participants who are two months in to their journey to healthier hearts.
LCA was awarded a grant of almost £10,000 by national charity, Heart Research UK and Subway Stores to fund a year-long project promoting healthy heart initiatives. The charity is based at Western Area Community Centre, and is attracting people from all over the town.
Now in its second stage, the project, which ends in September 2016, has already seen success stories such as people quitting smoking, losing weight and participants learning how to eat healthily on a budget.
