A YOUNG man from Newton Aycliffe has realised his ambition of founding a music festival for the north.
And 23-year-old Ben Tinkler has done it in style with the region’s very first electronic Music Festival to be held near Sedgefield next month. Northbridge Festival will feature some well-known DJ’s from the electronica music scene and last a full weekend over July 18 – 20. Headliners include Cristoph, The Menendez Brothers, Kokiri and over 30 DJs across the weekend.
Tickets to camp for the weekend are priced from £50, with a VIP option at £70 and is strictly for the over 18s.
Ben, a support worker at the PCP in Newton Aycliffe, is an avid music fan and his dream has been to organize his own festival. He said, “I have wanted to do this for a long time and it has taken a lot of hard work and organization to get to this stage. We have a brilliant line-up over the weekend and all we need now is the people to enjoy it.”
The exact location remains a secret but those visiting will be given the postcode when they purchase tickets, which are available on line from various web sites, including Skiddle.com and https://tickets.partyforthepeople.org.uk/events/989-northbridge-festival-2015
Guests can buy tokens for the non-cash bars and some of the food stalls that will also be available. Ben has thought of everything including hiring a 40-metre waterslide for the event, and ensuring a full medical team is on hand in case of emergencies.
