Dear Sir,
I should like to applaud last week’s Newton News for publishing inspirational articles encouraging residents to get involved in promoting our town.
From the front page story informing readers of Stiller’s new contract with Coveris which apparently is worth £15m and creating 10 new jobs, through Councillor Clare’s exhortation to big up our town and get people informed in decision making, to one of my personal heroes Ebac Managing Director Pamela Petty, whose common sense approach to business and the economy is a breath of fresh air.
I particularly like her views on buying British to improve our industrial and retail economy.
Even more impressive are the green shoots of common sense portrayed in an article on page 15 in which homeowners are advised by solicitor John Spencer that it is ok to spread salt and grit to help our neighbours.
The remainder of the publication is informative, newsworthy and helpful to the community.
Thanks to Newton News for your help and support over the years it is much appreciated and we look forward to working with our local newspaper in the future.
