Woodham Academy student Tyler Dickinson, aged 12, has been picked to play for Newcastle United’s under thirteen development squad. After just two seasons playing football and a few months at Andy Collett’s keeper training at Woodham Academy as well as playing for the school team, he has been scouted by Newcastle. Tyler who plays goalkeeper has worked incredibly hard including competing in and  becoming the most recent Keeper Kombat champion, a competition that pits goalkeepers from all over the north east against each other. Tyler’s mum Nicky said, ‘I’m extremely proud of Tyler’s achievement because he’s worked so hard and put in huge amounts of effort because football is his passion and it’s great that his dedication is starting to pay off’.
