A  new club has just opened and is looking for recruits of all ages to join. Ravenwolf Cinematic Combat County Durham, teaches members stage and screen combat, sword fighting, shield work and unarmed combat.
Activities range from learning how to wield medieval swords to discovering the secrets of film fight scenes.
Top-notch tuition comes from experts in combat training and trained professional actors, Mark Hindman Smith and David Macee.
The pair were part of the driving force behind the filming of the seventh-century epic, Whiteblade, which took place in Bishop Auckland in September. They are also working as combat tutors in Bishop Auckland’s historical spectacular, the Eleven Arches project.
The informal classes are suitable for anyone from complete beginners to those who are set on a career on the stage or screen. Lessons would also provide extra training to those working on the show’s combat scenes.
Classes run once a month and the Newton Aycliffe class will be on Nov 19th from 8-10pm
