Newton Press are pleased to be back to some kind of normality with the return of the Newton News in print format.

Over the last three months we have been unable to print and deliver your local community newspaper due to the lockdown and having to protect our delivery team.

Early on in the lockdown a printed version was produced which was supported by GAMP and MP Paul Howell. That edition contained a lot of valuable information about the Covid-19 pandemic, which was specially produced for those who were unable to leave there home and did not have access to social media. Distribution to those vulnerable members of the community was performed by local volunteers, charities and food banks.

Another edition was also produced on VE Day, which was supported by the Town Centre Landlords, ROF59 Activity Centre and Finley Structures. This edition brought a lot of history surrounding Newton Aycliffe and the Aycliffe Angels.

The past 12 weeks have given Newton Press the opportunity to improve and upgrade the Newton News into the new format you see in front of you now. We hope this new quality, glossy magazine is to your liking and you enjoy reading the local news as we deliver copies of the new look magazine to your home each week.

Stu Howarth, sales director at Newton Press said “We have received so many calls asking when the Newton News would be back in circulation, it is great to get the new look magazine out to our readers.”
