Are you interested in joining a “Family Bike Club” aimed at all levels of cycling ability in the Aycliffe/Sedgefield area?

The club will cater for people wishing to be part of an organised club, with scheduled rides around Aycliffe and also occasional excursions to other areas, including trips to locations such as Hamsterley Forest and the Seven Staines Forest Routes. Children 10 and over are also welcome, but would have to be accompanied by their guardian.

I am not initially looking at extreme biking, more bridleways, tracks and forest routes at a pace that will accommodate the less experienced rider. The club will be ideal for people looking to complement or start their fitness regime with an enjoyable outdoor activity that has so many benefits.

I would envisage cycling probably once a weekend and maybe once during the week if enough people are interested. My intention would be to cater for all levels initially and then to see if there is enough people to split into different categories.

Although the club would not be suitable for the experienced/fast paced riders, they are more than welcome to attend, but bear in mind that it will not initially cater for the faster more fitter biker!

There is still some cycling to be done during the next few months and it is also a good time to lay the foundations for the start of next year. If you are interested in being part of the grass roots concept, then please contact Steve on 07523 871373.
