Bishopton Redmarshall CE Primary School is opening an early years foundation stage nursery in January 2016.  The school has undertaken extensive renovations to the nursery classroom to create a bright, spacious, custom-designed learning environment in which every child will be encouraged to achieve their full potential.
An open day is on 10th November 9am till 4pm.  Parents and carers of young children of nursery age or below are welcome to visit the nursery to experience the facilities on offer and to meet the professional teaching staff.
Based within Bishopton Redmarshall CE Primary School, the nursery will benefit from all the excellent indoor and outdoor facilities the school has to offer, whilst also providing the nursery children with access to school meals and an out of hours club.
The nursery will initially provide childcare for around 12 children and will have scope to provide further places in the future.  It will welcome children from the term after their third birthday when they qualify for 15 hours of funded childcare.
The initial 15 hours will be organised to suit parental needs. Places may be available for children from their third birthday by arrangement and subject to a competitive fee until they are eligible to receive their funding. The nursery prides itself on providing a service which will enable parents and carers to work and live their daily lives, therefore, the long term plan is to offer a choice of half days, full days, extended care or selected days a week.
Perfectly located for Bishopton, Redmarshall and the surrounding villages, the nursery will provide a well needed early years education provision for young children within the school catchment area. Due to its location between Stockton, Darlington and Newton Aycliffe it will also prove to be an ideal choice of nursery care for people commuting to and from work.
The national childcare voucher scheme is already in place across the federation of schools and are welcomed at the nursery.
Following the announcement, Local Labour MP, Phil Wilson added “It is good to see a well-respected school within a rural belt community focusing on early years education, ensuring parents and carers of young children have easy access to such facilities without having to travel long distances”.
