New College Durham is inviting year 11 students to join them online for a School Leavers’ Virtual Open Day.
On Saturday 21 November, between 10am and 1pm, year 11 students and their parents/ carers can go online to discover the range of amazing opportunities on offer at the college. Prospective students can speak directly to tutors about courses, get the inside view on college life from current students and explore the fantastic facilities on a virtual tour of the college campus. For those not sure what to do next, the Advice, Support, Careers team are also on hand to offer impartial careers advice.
The college has a wide range of courses to help school leavers achieve their career goals. Vocational courses are ideal for students who enjoy practical learning. Training takes place in environments that replicate real life using the tools and equipment that are found in the workplace.
The sixth form centre at New College is a great alternative for students who want to study A-levels. Students get the same high quality training and support they would at a school but with the added benefits of a wider range of subjects, more independence and use of the college’s first class facilities.
Apprenticeships offer students the chance to earn money while learning on the job and getting a recognised qualification. New College offers over 70 different apprenticeship pathways and works with over 350 employers.
The exciting new T-Level qualifications are also available at New College Durham. They offer students a mixture of classroom learning and on-the-job experience through an extended industry placement.
