Jeff Coxon, from Seaham is a fundraiser for Grace House, the children’s hospice being built in Sunderland to serve the northern region. It will open in March next year and Jeff wishes to thank customers of Tesco who donated £1275 during 2012.

Jeff (68) himself has raised £45k and is aiming for a target of £100k despite being an amputee, confined to a wheelchair, suffering all types of illness. He is a popular figure at fundraising events dressed as a clown and recently won an award for his charity work.

Jeff spends 30 hours a week as a volunteer for Grace House and does it to help children whose condition he says, puts his own problems into perspective.

The slogan of the Hospice is: “We cannot add days to their life, but we can add life to their days”
