Hello, it’s PC Holly McCabe from Newton Aycliff here.e
We’ve had a busy week on the Neighbourhood Team in Newton Aycliffe this week.
This week saw a spate of vehicle crime where an investigation has been underway, a suspect has been arrested on suspicion of these crimes and for an attempted burglary that occurred in Newton Aycliffe and he is currently in the cells as I write this blog. This week we have also arrested a male on suspicion of inciting minors into sexual activity via social media and this investigation is ongoing. I would like to remind parents or guardians to keep an eye on your children’s social media accounts and who they may be engaging with to ensure they are safeguarded and protected. I know PCSO Button mentioned last week that we had several commercial burglaries on the industrial estate in Newton Aycliffe recently and, to update you, we have seized a vehicle connected to these. This investigation is still ongoing.
On a lighter note, PCSO Button and PC Booth attended the Town Park fun day last week and thoroughly enjoyed themselves meeting people and chatting with members of the community. It’s the final week of the summer holidays so Good Luck to those going back to school next week.
