Hello to everyone reading the Newton News.
This week we have eventually had our first insight into summer. The weather has been lovely and it’s the first week of the summer holidays for most schools.
Last week we handed out seven ACE awards to people we have recognised as doing amazing work in the community. One to Alex Brown, who shaved his head in order to raise £1052 for Alzheimer’s and the British Heart Foundation. A group of 6 outstanding pupils from Byerley Park Primary School received ACE awards after being recognised for their amazing community spirit. Issac Clarke, Jay Woods, Seth Tomlinson, Matthew Pendleton, Maddison Proctor and Harry Turner all received ACE awards after helping a lost child to safety.
Thank you to McDonalds for helping with the initiative.
We have seized a yellow Suzuki pit bike from Arncliffe Place which was linked to anti-social activity in the area.
We would love for you all to come and join us at the Family Fun Day this Saturday (24th July) between 11am and 2pm. It will be great to see you and finally get back to engaging with you all.
Finally, for anyone interested, please sign up to Keep in the Know so that we can understand the issues that most affect you and provide regular updates. Registration is simple and can be done by following the link www.keepintheknow.co.uk and signing up.
Have a great week.
