Under 12 Falcons 7-6 Shincliffe. A very gutsy, performance and win for the Falcons with only 10 men. Good, confident display by McKenna Longstaff in goal with a solid and much stronger back line. Scorers were Cole (4) Freddie (2) and Spencer but solid performances from all 10 made it a good team performance and victory against a stronger team who were favourites to win. MOTM given by opposition was Callum Brown.
Final two games of the season for the Under 11 Girls. First up, Birtley Town, very strong attack and the points were lost, 0-4. Then against Boldon All Stars, the girls re-set and re-focused and Aaliyah scores twice and Teanna made HT 3-0.
A further two goals from Aaliyah and for their final game the girls had earned an impressive 5-0 win. 9v9 next season. A strong squad will work hard over the summer with competition for every position. Well done girls great 1st season
Midweek games for the Under 10 Girls, both v Plains Farm. Game 1 saw Ocean Tia (1) and Hattie (3) secure a 4-2 win.
Game 2 ended in 2-3 loss with Hattie netting Aycliffe’s two. Final three games of the first season for the girls and up first were Durham & Cestria, the girls needed to put right an early season 3-2 defeat. They duly did running out 5-1 winners
Second up, Washington, who went in front only for Hattie to equalise, but alas the girls went down 1-3.
Finally a strong Bishop Auckland ran out 0-9 winners as injuries and changes took their toll. On another day with a fit squad we can get closer to Bishop – we still have things to work on but these girls are so willing to learn, roll on next season.
Under 10 Falcons v Peterlee Pumas. Great start to the game as the Falcons commanded the game. Unlucky on the counter and great saves from Finley. 0-1 down at HT. Great pressure from the second half and a great strike from Declan 1-1. Falcons passed the ball well all game few changes at half time unlucky result 2-1 Pumas! Declan man of the match. Great finish to the season and thanks to everyone! Well done lads!
Well done to the Under 8 Eagles who were terrific at the Blackpool tournament last weekend playing some fantastic football and good sportsmanship was shown by every member of the team. Well done boys and to all who helped make it such a great experience!
