Hate crimes are increasing and Durham Constabulary wants to take a stand to stop this. National Hate Crime Week runs from Saturday 8th October to Friday 15th. Come to see Durham Constabulary’s Community Cohesion Officers Mark and Neil outside the Newgate Centre in Bishop Auckland between 10am and 2pm on Thursday 13th October. The stars of police interceptors will be there as well as the dog section. Neil says “ Come and learn more about hate crime. Hate crime damages so many lives, so come along and sign up to support our campaign. Together we can defeat hate and intolerance in South Durham. If you can’t come along but feel you’ve been affected by hate crime call 101 and report it to us. If you don’t feel comfortable talking to the police then you can still report it via our partner website True Vision at www.report-it.org.uk . Don’t suffer in silence- report hate crimes to us.”
