After the fantastic success of our summer tournament last week Newton Aycliffe Juniors FC celebrated the whole 2014-15 season at their presentation day hosted as ever by Sunnydale Leisure Centre this weekend.
Chairman Nige Slatcher opened the day with some special individual awards; Jennifer Howe was given a special recognition award for her tireless work with the club over several years. Michelle Acuna Ocana received the Chairmans award for her dedicated work for the club as both Secretary and Treasurer in recent years. The club are priviliged to have such great volunteers like Michelle and Jennifer without whom we would be at a loss and the whole club really appreciate their efforts – a huge congratulations and thanks to them both.
The inaugural team of the year award was presented to the Under 9’s who have successfully run 2 sides this season. The Russell Foster league side getting promoted 4 leagues over the season and the TJFA side sealing an unprecedented treble in winning the TJFA Division 1, TJFA League Cup and Haggerston Castle tournament, a truly amazing achievement.
Each NAJFC team presented awards to all their players to recognise their contributions towards their sides performances over the whole season. With Rory the Lion the Middlesbrough mascot helping out to make the presentations to our younger players. To conclude the event each team manger awarded individual prizes for golden boot, player of the season, most improved player or sportsmans award, players player of the year, the managers award and player of the tournament either from the NAJFC event or tour.

Our season has come to an end but a new one is about to kick off, if you are wanting to join us for 2015-16 a few dates here to note:
Under 7 (School Year 2 in September) start training from 6th July 6-7pm.
Under 18’s open trials on the 5th and 12th July from 12 until 2pm
Under 10’s (School Year 5 in September) start training from Thurs 23rd July 5.45-7pm and the first six weeks will be led by FA Skills coach and be open trials for anyone wanting to join our team of the year! All training and trials will be at Sunnydale.
