Bishop Auckland Music Society is delighted to announce its 2020 season which begins on Friday, 3rd April when Katherine Bryer (oboe) and Irena Radic (piano) perform a concert which includes works by Schumann, Rachmaninov and Poulenc amongst others.

Commemorate V.E. Day on Friday, 8th May with Trio Anima (harp, flute and viola) in a concert which celebrates work by Debussy, Faure and Telemann. Make a diary note for Friday, 12th June when acclaimed pianist, Joseph Haviat, makes a return visit in a solo recital using the Steinway grand piano which delights players and listeners alike,

Jamal Alijev (cello) made his debut with the BBC Scottish Orchestra last year and, together with pianist Maksim Stsura, Jamal will perform work by Beethoven, Tchaikovsky and Franck on Friday, 17th July.

The series culminates on Friday, 4th September with The Meraki Duo – Meera Maharaj (flute) and James Girling (guitar) – who both studied at the Royal College of Music, sharing a passion which extends to jazz, Latin American and European , plus works by contemporary composers.

All concerts begin at 7.30pm and take place in Bishop Auckland Methodist Church, (DL14 6EN), opposite the General Hospital on Cockton Hill Road.
