The Under 13 Girls entertained Beamish Girls and set about attacking their shaky looking defence. Chloe Ryan slammed in a first-half hat-trick. Changes in the second half allowed our large squad plenty of game time. Beamish reduced the arrears to make it a nervy 3-2 at final score. Well done girls. The Under 12 Girls were back in action after four postponements. Leam Rangers were the opponents and new striker Meg, signed at the eleventh hour of the transfer window, made an immediate and explosive start by netting a double hat-trick in a thrilling 6-0 win. Fantastic performance by all the girls.
Finally a full squad for the Under 11 Girls and what a difference! Hebburn first, who opened the scoring, but 2 goals each from Hattie and Aaliyah made 4-1 at the break. Aaliyah added 2 further goals, spilt by a cracker from Ocean Tia. The performance was complete with Bethany, Katie and keeper Emily soaking up some late pressure despite a final minute goal from Hebburn. Full time 7-2. Second up, Cestria. The girls defended as a team and frustrated them but 2 late first half goals from Cestria and 0-2 at the break. Against a very good keeper and then a long shot and it was 0-3. The girls deserved a goal and Hattie slid a perfect pass, splitting the defenders to find Aaliyah who turned and slid the ball passed the diving keeper. 1-3
The Under 10 Girls played Washington who finished second in the regular season. The girls started with the strong wind behind and it proved valuable as they scored 2 goals from Hattie the second was from the half way line over the keeper, Hattie added a 3rd from outside the box before Washington grabbed a goal, a fourth from Hattie and a second from Washington and we got to half time 4-2. The defence of Olivia, Ocean Tia and Neve stepped up to the mark, Faith was outstanding in goal but the opposition scored twice, for a final score of 4-4. A big step as the girls showed they can compete with the top teams at this age group.
