Dear Sir,
Readers of Newton News will have read my letter in last weekend’s edition notifying everyone about the Murder Mystery evening complete with a scrumptious meal organised on my behalf to raise money for my two charities, Butterwick Hospice and The Phoenix Recovery Centre, Catterick. It is very heartwarming to think that people in the village are continuing to support me as Mayor of Darlington and I extend my thanks and appreciation to everyone.
I am also delighted to inform everyone that Heighington Village Hall Association are also giving their time and energies to support me as organising a Coffee Morning in Heighington Village Hall on Saturday 18th October at 10am to 12noon. Please come along to support this event. You will receive our normal village hospitality and be able to enjoy a morning of delicious tea/coffee and eating home made scones in our beautiful village hall which is set in the centre of our ancient  village greens.
As many people I meet ask questions about the Mayoral chains, I will be delighted to talk to anyone who is interested in them including children who are always fascinated. So please come along and bring your children to meet the Mayor. You are guaranteed an enjoyable and relaxing morning.
Cllr Gerald G. Lee
Mayor of Darlington
