July has been a busy performing month for M.A.D Community Choir with two performances celebrating the Sounds of The 60’s held at Woodham Community Centre.
Wednesday 8th July saw the choir performing in front of family, friends and selected guests with songs from the Swinging 60’s. The evening was great fun with resident choirmaster Evelyn Lodge providing laughter between songs as she introduced the purpose of the choir and M.A.D Productions.
The night was to raise funds for M.A.D Productions so they are able to continue helping people through the choir and through the charitable donations and events that M.A.D regularly offer.
Sunday 12th July 2015 saw MAD Community Choir performing hits from the 60’s for Woodham Community Centre’s Great Aycliffe Festival Event. The choir arrived at the centre on the Heartbeat bus dressed in their 60’s regalia all ready to entertain the community. Those in attendance were entertained with songs such as Build Me Up Buttercup, Dream, Walking Back to Happiness and of course Heartbeat before sitting down to enjoy a Pie and Pea Supper. The event was a great success and M.A.D Productions would like to thank the Committee of Woodham Community Centre for inviting them to take part.
The Choir are now in rehearsals for their next event ‘Country Roads’ which is their 7th Annual Charity Concert.  This year the event is going to be held at the Xcel Centre, Long Tens Way, Newton Aycliffe on Wednesday 7th October 2015 7pm start.  This year the Charity event is in aid of Macmillan Cancer Research and Tickets are on sale now.  If you would like to purchase tickets please contact: Woodham Community Centre 01325 300258.  Sonia Scott 01325 310991 or Vicky Hewish on 07582 734294
