Phil Wilson MP and Mayor Mary Dalton are joining Defoe Court Care Home in as it opens its doors on Care Home Open Day on 19th June 2015.
Members of the community are invited as part of the third annual Care Home Open Day with a range of exciting activities in line with their theme of “Watercolour Challenge.”
Students from Woodham Academy, will be demonstrating their dancing skills. The home will also have outdoor stalls along with crafts and a pottery demonstration for guests to try. Residents’ own artwork will be on display throughout the home, alongside artwork of pupils from Woodham Burn Out of School Club.
It is a day to have fun, and a great opportunity for residents, their loved ones, and members of the local community to get together and get creative. There will also be plenty of homemade refreshments and snacks on offer. The events will be running from 11am to 2:30pm.
Care Home Open Day is an international initiative aimed at all care homes in the UK,big and small, private providers and those run by local authorities. Thousands homes take part each year, holding special activities that create strong and meaningful link across the generations, between residents and their local communities.
