Club Singers are urged to keep the sound level low to avoid injuring their listeners ears. This is the plea from the  Tinnitus charity who deal with a growing number of people who are suffering from ringing in the ears as a result of listening to music played too loudly.
Tinnitus affects 1 in 10 people who now have constant buzzing in the head preventing sleep and being unable to concentrate at work!
Listening to loud music can trigger tinnitus and is an indication of damaged hearing. Most people have experienced tinnitus, but those who are severely affected can experience fear, anxiety and feelings of helplessness that affect their quality of life and there is no cure.
Recently a local singer at a Charity Night at the British Legion played his backing music so loud people were leaving, but he continued to impose the sound whether it was enjoyed or not!
The sad part was the vocalist had an amazing voice and the loud backing music spoilt his performance. If he had played at 25% of the volume it would have been enough.
