Dear Sir,
It is nice to see the refurbished town centre evolving, however I am somewhat shocked that with the new service charges many shops may close.
I understand there is to be a meeting with the site owners and shopkeepers. I believe as well as councillors our MP Phil Wilson should be there on this important matter.
I notice a lot of cigarette butts covering the floor around Greggs, Cafe Pronto, Poundstrecher and Nat West Bank so I am pleased to read that 16 new litter bins are to be placed in the Town Centre. but they are not suitable for cigarette ends in case they catch fire.
What happened to the man who used to go round on a mini sweeper to keep the town centre tidy? I think although it has taken a long time to be completed, every effort should be made to keep it a pleasant place to shop.
