Dear Sir,
Part of the work of the St. Vincent De Paul Society at St. Mary’s R. C. Church, involves visiting the elderly. Many of them live alone, and are sick, ill, housebound or infirm.
Our members were appalled to learn that some of these people have been informed they are no longer eligible to have their grass cut and their gardens cared for.
Others are expected to put out their own bins despite being in their eighties and extremely frail. Some are unable to leave their homes due to inappropriate access (lack of ramps) leaving them feeling alone and isolated.
The members of our society would like to highlight the plight of these people as the situation is causing unnecessary anxiety and emotional distress to these most vulnerable and needy people in our area.
We have informed both ‘livin’ and the local M.P. of our concerns in the hope they will provide us with an opportunity to discuss this matter further. In order to make a difference please give your support by writing to ‘livin’ and expressing your shared concerns.
Thank you for your support,
Saint Vincent De Paul Society
