Dear Sir,

I read the letter from the Tree Lover and I have to agree, we should be told when they are planting or chopping trees down in our neighbourhoods.

My Neighbours and I have trees too close to our homes. The branches overhang my property and an Oak Tree is less than six foot away from my guttering and it blocks the light in the Summer.

All these trees when shedding leaves, make the footpaths and our gardens untidy, slippy when wet, and block drains and guttering.  I don’t know what damage the roots are doing to drains etc., but If there was a list of trees to be cut down my neighbours and I would add one or two near us.

The answer is not to plant trees too close to houses.
