Young swimming star Hannah Featherstone coached by John Moore, resumed training after two weeks in Azerbaijan representing Great Britain competing in the European Games.
She swam new best times in the heats and semi-finals in the 200,100 and 50 Freestyle but did not make the finals.
The swimming events were won by Russia and second place was Azerbaijan with Team GB in third place.
Hannah leaves for Portugal in two weeks time having been selected to represent GB in the Modern Pentathlon. While we are unable to predicate the outcome the aim is to set a new world record for the 200 metres Freestyle for the 15/16 year age group.
After a few days training, she then goes to Sheffield to compete in the National Championships.
Hannah said: “I had an absolutely amazing time and the experience I gained was huge. The event was larger than anything I had experienced before and the atmosphere throughout the games was electric
I am so grateful to everyone, including my Mam and Dad, my coach John Moore and my club. I could not have done it without them and their support is truly invaluable.
My coach was Richard Denigan and speaking for all the girls he aided us massively to reach our full potential in this major competition.
Being chosen to represent Team GB at the Inaugural European Games has inspired me to work even harder to gain another opportunity in the future”.
