Production Company Enchanted Entertainment is currently touring the UK with their production of Peter Pan and is bringing this well-loved family pantomime to the Darlington Civic Theatre this Easter! They have been searching the North East to find one dance school that could provide 12 Lost Boys and Tinkerbell for their production and have selected local dance school Aycliffe Dance Academy.
Local Children; Megan Austin, Sophie Bush, Grace Catterick, Amy Chatt, Milly Duggan, Darcy Kent, Emily Langsley-Melvin, Lucy Murray, Bridget Proctor, Chloe Shaw, Anna Shorten, Ellie Sisterson and Tilly Walker were selected out of over 200 students from the Academy to represent the dance school and the North East area. They have been working extremely hard rehearsing scenes, songs and dance routines ready for their big performance later this month. The children have an excellent role in this production and will be performing alongside some well-known celebrities such as Dani Harmer (Tracy Beaker/Strictly Come Dancing), comedy legend Bobby Davro & Disney’s Art Attack, Lloyd Warbey!
Academy teachers, students and parents are delighted to be given this once in a lifetime opportunity. Emma Cox, the Dance Principal, said; ‘I couldn’t believe it when I received the phone call from the show’s producer to say that we had been chosen! I was so excited and over the moon to be able to present this amazing opportunity to some of my students. The Academy is just about to celebrate its 4th Birthday. I can’t believe how far we have come, I could burst with pride! ’
If you would like to come along and support your local dance school you can purchase tickets from the Darlington Civic Theatre Box Office. The performances will be taking place on Saturday 19th April at 3pm and 7pm and Sunday 20th April at 1pm and 4.30pm.
