Lifeline Community Action know there are hundreds of children in Newton Aycliffe in families that can’t afford a trip to the seaside – far less a holiday. We are delighted to have helped over 200 disadvantaged people get that much needed break last year and quite a few of our guests were people that read about our offer of free holidays through the Newton News.
Most of our families face daily hardship made worse by things like illness, bereavement or disability. We are well aware that family holidays really can hold a special place in our memories as parents and as children and Lifeline Community Action have tried hard this year to make those memories extra special!
We want to help build stronger, happier families, as this is so importance to us and these are some of the reasons we offer these holidays.
Last year one of our guests who lost a child through tragic circumstances said ‘this break meant the world to the family’. Another family who had suffered many illnesses said: ‘If we hadn’t read the Newton News article we would never have been on this beautiful holiday which made a real difference to our family’s stability and happiness.
This year’s holiday will be to the Jonas Centre in Redmire between 15th – 20th August and if you’d like to be considered please phone Linzi on 07936 431262 or e-mail lifeline.action@googlemail.com explaining why you feel you need a much-needed holiday.
Any support from donors who, like us, understand the benefits of a break to underprivileged families would be much appreciated. Please e-mail  lifeline.action@googlemail.com for more information on how you can give support. Working together we can give families a much needed break!
