Newton Aycliffe Scout Supporters Association would like to thank everyone who came to our New Year’s Eve Disco and wish them a Happy New Year.
Our next event is free – a Live Acoustic Music Night on 31st January. ‘Pipe Dream‘ from Sunderland who are well known in their home area will perform songs made popular by the The Beatles, Buddy Holly, and many others as well as traditional Irish music and some of their own songs.
You can listen to them on their website:- www.pipedreamband.co.uk/gallery. Also appearing is Keith Morrison from Washington, well known for his guitar playing and singing. Keith has a huge repertoire with the sound of The Beatles being a particular favourite. The doors open at 7pm.
Our thanks to Neil Mason from The Candlelite Club for organising this night for us, all the singers and musicians, and Roly the sound man, who are all giving us their support free of charge.
We would also like to thank everyone who has helped us following the two break-in’s suffered since the end of 2014.  Although we are still reeling from the effects of these crimes we will continue to try and raise the funds needed to run and maintain the Scout Centre.
The Association is a registered charity, all members who help run the centre are volunteers who give their time, and work hard to keep the premises open and allow Scout groups to use the premises free of charge.
Although a significant amount of money was stolen we are committed to continuing our aims.  We have reviewed our security arrangements and are working with the police to catch the thieves. If you have any information please call the Police on 101.
