Dear Sir, It is time for Livin to listen, as they are not living up to the promise when they took over from Sedgefield Borough Council. The grassed areas have not been cut to the same standard the borough set. Pathway areas have never been sprayed making our streets an eyesore. The bungalow area for the elderly by Simpasture Park are a complete mess, with untidy trees and bushes higher than windows, After reading a copy of Livin’s tenant’s agreement it states that premises owned by livin will be regularly checked and houses and gardens must be kept in good order.

After looking around the town most gardens are kept tidy, but there are a lot that are not, and Livin are doing nothing about it. Why do they allow one person to live in a three bedroom house with a big back garden where grass is as high as the fence and has not been cut for over two years? These gardens are sometimes used as a dog toilet and the smell and flies on a fine day is repulsive and sickening, When ratepayers complain about gardens or anti-social behaviour as long as they get the rent Livin do nothing! They should appoint a good Head of Property Services that listens to ratepayers and make sure the properties they  rent out are kept up to standard. They do have some very good tenants who do keep their properties in order. Come on Livin, we are all rate payers and deserve the best for Newton Aycliffe – a clean and well looked after town.
