Michael Stead & Lindsey Aston, Local Champions Working for You
On 1st May, residents in Aycliffe North and Middridge Ward will have the chance to decide who represents them on both Great Aycliffe Town Council and Durham County Council. Michael Stead and Lindsey Aston are standing for election with a clear message: “local elections should be about local issues.”
A Track Record of Getting Things Done
Over the past four years, Michael and Lindsey have worked tirelessly to improve Aycliffe, Middridge, and Woodham, they have:
• Secured funding to improve roundabouts, open spaces, and footpaths.
• Brought back street lighting to make public spaces safer.
• Ensured safe school routes, so children don’t have to walk through
mud and water.
• Challenged wasteful spending on the Town Council, pushing for
better value for money.
• Increased investment in road repairs, ensuring potholes and
damaged streets are tackled properly.
• Been out and about reporting fly-tipping, abandoned vehicles, and
waste, making sure issues are tackled quickly.
• Cracking down on dog fouling and installed new bins to keep our
streets and parks clean.
• Protected local council wardens, who respond to over 1,200 police
calls per year, making our community safer.
• Secured funding for the rebuilding of Greenfield School, investing
in the future of our children.
Putting Residents First, All Year Round
Michael and Lindsey believe that being a councillor isn’t just about election time – it’s about working for the community all year round. They live here, they see the issues first hand, and they are always available to listen and take action.
“We don’t just turn up at election time,” says Lindsey. “We’re regularly out and about meeting up and speaking to residents, and making sure your concerns are always at the heart of what we do.”
Michael adds, “Some candidates only stand for County Council, but we’re standing for both Town and County – because we know how important it is to have strong voices at every level. This election isn’t about national politics. It’s about who will work hardest for our area on your local issues.”
On Thursday 1st May, vote for Michael Stead and Lindsey Aston – your hard working local team.
